(Sold) Daimler Coupe XJC

This lovely car has been in the same family since 1983, when it was purchased from its first owner. It has been maintained regardless of expense over the years, with a huge history file.

The car itself has covered approximately 160,000 miles, but it had a new engine at approximately 100,000 miles back in 1987. It was subject to a light, but comprehensive, restoration in the early 2000s, at which point it was resprayed. It has seen little use in recent years and was recommissioned earlier this year after some time off the road. It is now coming to market for the first time in 33 years because its owner is downsizing to a property without a garage.

The car is in lovely condition but as with any classic of this age there are items which could benefit from attention. The paintwork is good, but there are bubbles here and there which could benefit from attention. These are cosmetic and not structural in our view. These could be attended to and blended in rather than the car requiring a full repaint.

The underneath is very clean and has been the subject of quite a bit of restoration work in the past, including the painting of all suspension components.

The Daimler versions of this iconic car are extremely rare; there must be only a handful on the road. Even rarer must be to find one which has been maintained to this standard in the same hands for 33 years
