Services

What we do.

When we founded Charles Russell Classic Cars we identified a gap in the market between one-man bands, often operating out of obscure locations with long and uncertain waiting lists on the one hand, and overly commercial “open cheque book” restorers with huge overheads and charges on the other. There was nowhere offering a one-stop service for everything from an oil change and MOT to an engine rebuild where classic owners could obtain the same service as modern car owners enjoy, from people who really know these cars.

We concluded that a full garage service at affordable prices, as these vehicles would have enjoyed when new, was lacking and we took the plunge to fill that gap. The doors opened at The Motor Garage nearly a decade ago and the rest is history. We have grown by reputation and word of mouth and now look after cars all over the south of England, and beyond. The classic side of the business outgrew the original premises over time and the decision was taken to expand the team and move CRCC into new, dedicated, facilities a stone’s throw from the original garage in 2023.

We are also a distributor for Millers Classic Oil and sell straight from the door. We also sell second hand parts (please call for availability) and for sale cars can be viewed here. Unit A, Fargo Road, Larkhill, Salisbury. SP4 8N Telephone: 01980 670632

When preparing cars, we have a bias towards modification and improvement.

We work on concourse, highly valuable, vehicles where originality is key. We also prepare and maintain cars for daily use, where improvement and sympathetic moderation can transform reliability and enjoyment. As engineers we prefer to repair, rather than replace, and if a part is no longer available we will often be able to manufacture or customise an acceptable replacement, or track down a good used part through our network of contacts and suppliers.

From electric power steering conversions, alternators, and improved braking and handling packages on the one hand, through to completely re-engineered vehicles with bespoke engine and powertrain options on the other. If you love the idea of a classic car but are wary of reliability and performance issues, we will have a solution!
